MP Pandan, New Transport Minister & MCA Vice President Datuk Ong Tee Keat had officially declare will go for party no 2 post in this year party election. He declared the intention in an interview with NTV 7 wednesday.
After "political Tsunami" Malaysia 12th General Election, most of senior party post VIP politician in chinese base party namely MCA & Gerakan are eliminated by the voter, such as Koh Tsu koon (Gerakan), Tan Chai Ho (MCA) or Donald Lim (MCA). Yet if we sensitive and aware, there are only one person still manage to defend his status...Datuk Ong Tee Keat, MP For Pandan.
The election outcome is certainly is a boost to Datuk Ong as it will be strong factor for him to go higher level in political life. In MCA, Datuk Chua Soi Lek (Resigned), Datuk Chan Kong Choy (Not defend) and Datuk Donald Lim (Lost in election) all are consider finished in MCA party post. Therefore the only person, public can see in MCA who can fill in the bigger shoe is definitely Datuk Ong.
As Datuk Ong Ka Ting will be last term presidency in MCA, therefore no one should be so stupid to challenge him. One term is just only 3 years... or maybe less than that. So party post vacant are Deputy president, 2 Vice President and go on. Public especially MCA members are well aware that Datuk Ong will be Deputy President in this year party election for SURE!
Now here is what the genius people should do in politic arena. When you know 99% of the matters been settled, in politic you will go for 100% in hand! Thats why Datuk Ong is the first one to public announce his intention to go for Deputy Presedent just after a week President MCA, Ong Ka Ting said this year election will go on as planned. His motive is very brilliant as this will kill off the 1% possibility unwanted things pop out to deny his ambition. Now I really don't see any possibility at all in stopping Datuk Ong Tee Keat from sitting the number 2 chair in MCA.
Stephen Chow have a very famous proverb in his movie.."If you want it, you have to speak it out". Don't know if Datuk Ong Tee Keat is Stephen Chow fans but he is certainly have master the proverb. Salute to you Datuk Ong Tee Keat.

ong is a political genius but at the same time also a political opportunist..but in politics, we must always remember that even u hav p/g and p/o, u may not be able to achieve yr political goal coz if yr policital boss is against yr political goal, yr political career may gone as well. just looked back at anwar political career in umno..so, ong policital career will depend on whether senior ong allow him to smooth sailing..my opinion it will not be that easy!...ck cheah
Ya certainly will not easy but given current situation, Ong Tee Keat is having upper hand on the matters as Ong Ka ting is facing no choice condition.
Maybe Ong Tee Keat have to follow what PAK LAH did before get the PM from Mathathir... keep mouth shut, humble & showing full support for current president. After get the post then only you show your own color.
