What's your religion? Happy Wesak Day

I'm a freethinker. Meaning not taking only religion as a guideline for my life. I always believe my destiny is on my own hand. If i want success, I must work for it. If i want peace i must find it somewhere. Never across my mind all the meaning of success or peace is actually can be found in religion.

You will never "complete" or "perfect" without religion. Yes. These few year i started to learn the meaning.

There are 2 religion i studies most in my life. One is Buddhism & another is Islam. I actually study Islam first especially during STPM where i take sejarah Islam as one of my subject. I believe i have satisfied myself what inside Al-Quran in 2 years time. Then during my University time, i started study Buddhist...actually i study Buddhism coz i was heart broken in love that time...shame..

I guess chinese like me are normal. My family practise Taoism. Since young i was confuse which one is Buddhism and which it Taoism. I was not very keen on Taoism coz i only expose to the practise of the Taoism and not the teaching of Taoism. Study Buddhism is the one i prefer later.

Yet in these few year of "roller Coaster" career performance, i was lost. I was totally blur about what i chasing for. Not about money, not about happiness, not about healthy, and not about peace of mind. What i really want is the meaning of "life".

I already started my journey to seek the meaning of "life" inside the religion. Not qualified yet to name myself as Buddhist (although I have put my religion as buddhist in any column of form for the past 33 year) I will declare my religion as Buddhist when i'm feel i am buddhist.

Happy Wesak day.

Welcome to the world of Buddhism, Sungai Siput Boy.

There is a growing interest in Buddhism the world over because many informed people have grown rather weary of religious dogmatism and superstition, on one hand, and greed and selfishness arising from materialism, on the other. Buddhism can teach humanity to walk the Middle Path of moderation and have a better understanding on how to lead a richer life of peace and happiness.
