When we talk about AUKU, 99% of us are only focusing on the issue related students barred from joining political party. The whole Act is look like contain that clause only.
How many people have buy and read the AUKU act? I believe 90% above those students who coming out to demonstration and pushing for the act to be abolish have not read the act.
If the AUKU Act to be abolish, it will be a disaster for our Malaysia higher education system. It's simply meaning all party especially private company are free to set up their University with their own set of "Standard" .
The most important part of the act is the administration, how to run, what department must exist, who will be responsible for the standardize etc...The clauses which say students not allowed join political party are just a one of the section out of 20 plus section.
So please do not shout "Mansuhkan AUKU" as it is a very misleading statement.
