This is a historical moment for Malaysia.
The Syariah High Court in Penang; who chair by Perlis Syariah Court chief judge Othman Ibrahim, allowed a Muslim convert Siti Fatimah Tan Abdullah, 39, to renounce Islam and revert to her original faith.
The cases had similarities to the Nyonya Tahir case in 2006 except that Siti Fatimah is still alive.
I believe it is a positive development. Islam has been misconcept for long time especially with the help from the Western mass media. This cases will be an eye opener for all who really want to learn more about the religion.
The next development might be allowed muslim converter maintain their own name and not designated name e.g. bin @ abdullah?
